DEMETRA PONTISAKOS is a solo practitioner in Salem, MA concentrating her practice in divorce and family law. Her practice includes traditional client representation, litigation, collaborative law practice and mediation. She is certified by the Massachusetts Probate and Family Court as a Category V Parenting Coordinator. She is also trained and certified as a family law arbitrator by the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers. Ms. Pontisakos is licensed to practice in Massachusetts, New Hampshire and New York and has an interest in handling inter-jurisdictional matters. She is on the Board of Governors for the Massachusetts chapter of the American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers and is a member of the Board of Directors for the Essex County Bar Association. She is a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association, the New Hampshire Bar Association, the Salem Bar Association, the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council and the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation. She also serves as a volunteer conciliator for the Essex County Bar Association. Attorney Pontisakos has served as a lecturer and a speaker on family law topics, including the Massachusetts Continuing Legal Education programs, Cutting Edge Issues in Northern Massachusetts Family Law (2015) and Practicing Family Law on the Border of Massachusetts and New Hampshire (2017-program chair). Ms. Pontisakos is a graduate of Union College and New England Law|Boston. She also holds a Master of Library Science degree from Southern Connecticut State University.
DEMETRA PONTISAKOS has over 30 years of experience serving clients in family law matters. She represents clients in all areas of family law in both Massachusetts and New Hampshire, including divorce, division of assets, alimony, child support, child custody matters, guardianship matters, prenuptial and postnuptial agreements and interstate jurisdictional conflicts. Attorney Pontisakos is trained and experienced in using a variety of services toward the resolution of family law conflicts, including mediation, negotiation, and litigation. She is also provides services as a Parenting Coordinator to assist parents with the resolution of custodial and co-parenting conflicts outside of the court process.
Hourly rate, with a retainer fee based on the nature, extent and complexity of legal issues determined on a case by case basis.
