The Maura Sullivan Scholarship Fund
The Maura Sullivan IACP Forum Scholarship provides tuition assistance in the amount of $500.00 for those who wish to attend the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals (IACP) Forum but lack the financial resources to do so. The Scholarship is funded through MCLC member donations and is managed by the Board of the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council.
The Scholarship honors Maura Sullivan, a dedicated champion of Collaborative Law in Massachusetts, lawyer, and member of the MCLC Board. Maura was passionate about Collaborative Law and helped spread the message of peace to the courts, colleagues, and the general public. She was particularly dedicated to the mission of IACP, attending the IACP Forum every year. She also served on the IACP Fund Raising Committee.
Application Process: If you would like to apply for a Maura Sullivan IACP Forum Scholarship, please download the Maura Sullivan IACP Forum Scholarship Application and follow the instructions: The Scholarship Application must be received by MCLC no later than one (1) month before the IACP Forum Early Bird Registration Deadline. Applicants will be notified about the status of their application two (2) weeks following the Scholarship Application deadline.
Criteria and Considerations for Selection: In order to be considered for the Maura Sullivan IACP Forum Scholarship, applicants must be a member in good standing of MCLC (See MCLC Membership Standards for Collaborative Practitioners). Other considerations which the Scholarship Committee will take into consideration when reviewing applications include, but are not limited to:
(1) The financial needs of the applicant and the specific amount requested;
(2) The reasons the applicant is requesting financial assistance; and
(3) The applicant’s specific interest in the Collaborative Process and reasons for attending the IACP Forum.
Disbursement of Funds: In order to receive awarded Scholarship Funds, the applicant must register for the IACP Forum and provide proof of registration to Kristin Beane, MCLC’s Executive Director. Within fourteen (14) days of receiving confirmation of registration, MCLC will disburse the Scholarship Funds. In the event an applicant receives a Scholarship and does not attend the IACP Forum, the applicant must notify MCLC’s Executive Director and promptly return the Scholarship Funds.
