Been a licensed Financial Professional for more than 30 years. Previous experiences include work as a Tax Preparer, a Bookkeeper, an Adjunct Professor of Finance, a Life Insurance Agent, and as a Stockbroker. I saw too many undisclosed and inherent conflicts of interest when it came to commission-based sales, therefore I left that world and went out on my own by creating my own independent RIA (Registered Investment Advisor) firm whereas all sales commissions are removed from all investment products, and there is total disclosure of all expenses. My firm is compensated by various fee-based arrangements; either by way of billable hours or by way of an annual retainer based on the dollar volume of portfolio assets which require ongoing management. I attained the ChFC (Chartered Financial Consultant) certification because it requires more college level coursework and goes beyond what the CFP Board requires. I wanted to set myself further apart from all of the “charlatans” who have had zero professional training and very little or no college education.
