MCLC Roundtable 2022: Hybrid Advanced Training and Networking: Seeing Past the Familiar: How can the Collaborative Process Better Identify and Serve Underrecognized Issues, People, and Situations?

May 19, 2022, 1 – 5 pm, location TBD – Featured Workshop and Networking

May 20, 2022, 8 – 2 pm Via Zoom - Breakout Workshops

This two half-day interdisciplinary training will explore

1) how a collaborative process can provide dispute resolution options in situations not well recognized or understood by courts, and

2) how the collaborative law movement can attract more diverse practitioners and clients.

We seek 60 - 90-minute interdisciplinary or discipline-specific workshop proposals from business/civil practice and family law collaborative professionals relevant to our theme. 

Proposals should focus on one or more of the following:

·                  Collaborative process involving more than two parties

·                  Racial barriers for practitioners and clients

·                  Class barriers for practitioners and clients

·                  Issues related to neurodiversity

·                  Religious differences in business or family disputes

·                  Gender fluidity in business or family disputes

·                  LGBTQ+ issues in business or family disputes

 Specific Family Issues:

 ·                 Probate and estates

·                  Relocation/removal of children

·                  Same sex couples 

·                  Polyamory

·                  Unmarried parenting

·                  Grandparent and/or guardianship issues

Workshop Proposal Format

Your proposal should be a Word doc or PDF and include the following:

1.    Title of workshop

2.    Brief presenter biographies (no more than 50 words)

3.    Short description of workshop (no more than 50 words)

4.    Brief outline of the intended presentation (attachments are fine)

5.    Please indicate if you’ll use slides and if you’re willing to make them available after the presentation

6.    Will you use other (not slides) material that should be distributed in advance?

7.  Contact information for main contact (name, address, phone, email)
