My focus is on family law, collaborative law, divorce mediation, and care and protection matters. I believe that family law is the most important and rewarding area of law in which a lawyer can practice. It is also an area of law in which clients need experienced, skilled, and compassionate representation to help them navigate the process. I have practiced law for over 30 years and I am admitted to the bar in both Massachusetts and New York.
In addition to family law, my background includes experience in landlord/tenant, real estate and intellectual property matters (focus on artists, museums and non-profits). In 2001, I was formally trained as a mediator. Since that time, I have continued my training by taking advanced courses in divorce law, mediation, marital mediation and collaborative law.
Over the past several years, I have trained new mediators in basic and divorce mediation for several area community mediation programs. From 2007 through 2010, I was the Coordinator of Court and Divorce Mediation Services at a community mediation program in Cambridge. At that time, I also began handling care & protection cases, adoptions, and guardianships in my law practice.
I am a former Co-Chair of the Charles River Collaborative Law Practice Group, a member of the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council, the Massachusetts Council for Family Mediation, the Massachusetts Bar Association Dispute Resolution Council, and the Massachusetts Juvenile Bar Association. I graduated from Whittier College School of Law (J.D.) and Boston University (B.S.). I received a Certificate in Museum Studies from Tufts University. I am committed to working with my clients to help them achieve their goals and objectives.
