SUMMARY:MCLC 2026 Roundtable
DESCRIPTION:Register Now for MCLC’s 2026 Roundtable\nFeaturing Keynote Presentation: Unleash Your True Value and Grow Your Collaborative Practice by Kathleen Burns Kingsbury\, Founder KBK Wealth Connection \nJoin us this May for the MCLC Annual Roundtable\, a two-day virtual event designed to strengthen skills\, deepen collaboration\, and support the growth of your Collaborative practice. \nThis year’s program features Keynote speaker\, Kathleen Burns Kingsbury\, wealth psychology expert\, coach\, and author of Breaking Money Silence: How to Shatter Money Taboos\, Talk More Openly About Finances\, and Live a Richer Life. In her keynote\, Kathleen will share practical strategies to help Collaborative Professionals clearly communicate their value\, attract ideal clients\, and confidently grow their practices. \nIn addition to the Keynote\, the Roundtable will include interactive workshops and discussions with Collaborative Professionals from across disciplines. \n\nRoundtable Schedule\nDay 1: Thursday\, May 14\, 2026\n1:00 – 1:05 PM: Welcome \n1:05 – 4:00 PM: Keynote Presentation: Unleash Your True Value® and Grow Your Collaborative Practice By Kathleen Burns Kingsbury\, Founder KBK Wealth Connection \n\n\n  \n4:00 – 4:10 PM: Break \n4:10 – 4:40 PM: Improving Outcomes for Families — How co-parenting apps can enhance client communication and ensure success By Aiko Suyemoto\, OurFamilyWizard \nThis workshop explores how the OurFamilyWizard (OFW) platform supports improved outcomes in high-conflict family law cases by enhancing co-parent communication and reducing reliance on unreliable methods like email and texting. Participants will learn how courts are increasingly ordering the use of structured communication tools\, how OFW’s features create accountability and transparency between parents\, and how practitioners can monitor interactions and intervene when needed. The session also covers real-world applications\, including sample court orders\, evidentiary documentation\, and tools available to support both professionals and families\, with the goal of streamlining case management and promoting more effective\, less adversarial co-parenting. \nAbout the Presenter \nAiko Suyemoto is a New York-based attorney with a background in family and matrimonial law. She received her BA from Barnard College and her JD from Cardozo Law School\, where she completed the Divorce Mediation Clinic her 2L year. She is also a member of the New York Women’s Bar Association. \nPrior to joining OurFamilyWizard\, she represented clients in family court throughout the five boroughs. As a Judicial Education Coordinator at OurFamilyWizard\, she educates professionals including judges\, attorneys\, mediators\, and therapists on the benefits of using online tools to encourage respectful communication and reduce conflict between parents during and after the separation process. She lives in Manhattan with her boyfriend and their dog\, Ginger. \n4:40 – 4:45 PM: Closing Remarks \n\nDay 2: Friday\, May 15\, 2026\n9:30 – 9:40 AM: Welcome \n9:40 – 10:40 AM: Practicing What We Learned in “Unleashing Your True Value®” – A Workshop to practice newly learned skills \nThis interactive workshop builds on Day 1’s Keynote Presentation\, Unleashing Your True Value®\, offering participants the opportunity to reflect on and begin applying key concepts. Attendees will explore how to better articulate their value\, shift mindset\, and integrate new language and strategies into their Collaborative practice. Participants will gain insight into how they communicate their role and value within the Collaborative process. \n10:40 – 10:45 AM: Break \n10:45 – 11:45 AM: Where Do Collaborative Cases Come From? It All Starts With You By Richard Reade\, Esq. \nThe focus of this workshop is on the “we” and “I.”  As Collaborative Professionals\, we are the best source of Collaborative cases\, from the first contact\, to the conclusion of the process after full agreement. How we conduct ourselves along that path\, as we relate to the Collaborative Law process\, the Team\, ourselves\, and each family will determine where Collaborative Cases come from. \nAbout the Presenter \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRichard Reade began his legal career in litigation and trial practice\, achieving success across multiple areas of law before transitioning to family law\, where he found the work more meaningful. He now focuses on helping families resolve conflict in ways that support long-term stability\, particularly when children are involved. \nWhile he brings extensive litigation experience\, his practice centers on mediation and collaborative law to help families avoid court. A Certified Mediator and active member of the Academy of Professional Family Mediators\, the Massachusetts Council on Family Mediation\, and the Massachusetts Collaborative Law Council\, Richard works with clients across divorce\, custody\, support\, and complex property matters to reach practical\, lasting agreements. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n11:45 – 11:55 AM: Overview of MCLC Programs \n11:55 AM – 12:55 PM: Collaborative Values in Action By Patrice Brymner and Beth L. Aarons\, JD\, MSW \nHow can we better embody and promote collaborative values in all our work? \nThe Collaborative Law approach is not about any single process or model. It’s about an approach and a set of values that facilitate more meaningful engagement and often lead to more sustainable outcomes. When someone hires a Collaboratively trained professional for a divorce\, for instance\, they may not choose a full “Collaborative Law Process\,” but they will experience\, through that professional\, a different approach and different possibilities for resolution. \nTogether\, we’ll identify the essential elements of Collaborative Law\, beyond a particular process model and explore practical ways to bring the values and benefits of those elements to all the work we do. We will all leave this workshop better able to articulate the tangible benefits of hiring Collaborative Professionals. \nAbout the Presenters \nBeth L. Aarons\, JD\, MSW\, is a collaborative attorney and mediator focused on helping families navigate the complex family dynamics of divorce and inheritance disputes through dispute resolution processes.  Beth is a past President of MCLC\, and serves as a member of the Board of Directors.  She teaches Mediation and Collaborative Law courses at Suffolk Law School and has presented at local\, national\, and international conferences on Collaborative Law and mediation topics. \nPatrice Brymner is a collaborative attorney and mediator. She practices client-centered family law\, focusing on marriage and divorce as personal and family transitions. She has presented on various collaborative practice skills\, including the role of dignity in dispute resolution\, collaborative approaches to prenups\, and dealing with family-owned businesses in a collaborative divorce. She is a past president of MCLC and she co-hosts the podcast “Mending Fences.” \n12:55 –1:00 PM: Closing Remarks \n\nRegistration Rates\nMCLC or MCFM Members: $165 (both days) / $95 (one day) – Save $25 when you register for both days! \nNon-Members: $195 (both days) / $110 (one day) – Save $25 when you register for both days! \n  \nThank you to our Sponsor
