I have focused on divorce and family law since graduating law school over 12 years ago. Prior to becoming an attorney, I served as a police officer for approximately 13 years, graduating first in my police academy class and later serving as a shift commander and trainer.
Early in my legal career, I observed how high-conflict cases were bad for most families, and how sometimes attorneys can fuel the flames of conflict. I obtained my mediation certification and completed the collaborative law training, and have owned and managed law firms since 2007.
Outside the office, I enjoy music and play the drums in two local bands. I also spend time canoeing and kayaking. I have been married over 25 years and have two children.
I work with divorce and family law clients in a variety of ways. I offer collaborative divorce services, mediation, and court-based representation. Finding the best process to resolve a divorce or other matter is an important decision, but I feel strongly that litigation should be the last option for most families.
